diana+jim | columbus engagement photography

Meet diana and jim. they are one of the CUTEST couples i’ve ever photographed. When diana contacted me about wedding photography, i did a little happy dance at my desk. I met diana when i photographed her senior photos when i worked for Lesko Photography in beavercreek (fun fact, Diana’s new last name will be Lesko when she gets married. no relation to my former boss). She was beautiful then and she’s even more stunning now. In a lot of these photos she reminds me of Katie Holmes, something about her expression when she laughs. She’s an absolute delight to be around and Jim is exactly the same way. We didn’t stop laughing or smiling much during our time together. I absolutely loved being around these two, their love for each other is huge. They light each other up. Enjoy a few favorites from our time together!columbus-oh-engagement-photography-001columbus-oh-engagement-photography-003columbus-oh-engagement-photography-004columbus-oh-engagement-photography-006columbus-oh-engagement-photography-007columbus-oh-engagement-photography-005columbus-oh-engagement-photography-012columbus-oh-engagement-photography-008columbus-oh-engagement-photography-009columbus-oh-engagement-photography-002columbus-oh-engagement-photography-010columbus-oh-engagement-photography-011columbus-oh-engagement-photography-013columbus-oh-engagement-photography-014columbus-oh-engagement-photography-015you guys are going to make one GORGEOUS couple as a bride and groom!

how we met (as told by diana):

jim and I met through some mutual friends. Our first encounter was actually at a birthday dinner for our friend Leanna, but we didn’t really talk, or even remember seeing each other there.
I consider our first hang out at to be at a bar (college years :)), and then we finally talked! I remember thinking he was really cute that night!
We continued to hang out and then slowly realized we actually liked each other! I remember one of our first activities together was having a movie night where we watched each others favorite movies.
I introduced him to Safe Haven and he introduced me to Top Gun. I’m luck to have him in my life.
how he asked (as told by jim):
For the big day, I had a dinner reservation, tickets to Cinderella the musical and planned to propose at the Jefferson Memorial in downtown DC. However, the proposal was in the works for several months before that day.
I went to downtown DC at night with a coworker to determine what monument had the best lighting for a proposal picture. Next, I had my brother and sister-in-law fly in to spend the weekend with us.
Diana and I had a pleasant evening at dinner and the musical, but things took an interesting turn after that. It was cold and Diana’s feet hurt, so she got a tad bit cranky.
Once I parked at the Jefferson Memorial, she refused to get out of the car and walk the 0.25 miles to the memorial. Internally, I was freaking out as my brother and sister-in-law were waiting to take a picture of the proposal.
She eventually relented and got out to walk, but she was not happy! Luckily, the proposal warmed her heart and I was the happiest guy in the world!
wedding planning advice for future brides and grooms:
Just have fun with it and go with the flow! There’s a lot to figure out in the beginning, but going to tastings for food and cake is by far the best part!
There will be stressful times, but somehow it always seems to work out.
Also, be nice to your parents! They have been more than helpful and patient with us during this time.
Hopefully we can continue to follow our own advice!
