Teddy+family | Columbus, Ohio Newborn Photography

Meet sweet baby Teddy. Or Theo as his daddy calls him. brand new baby brother to one of the sweetest baby boys I’ve ever met, Russ. This family is no stranger to the blog and I’m delighted every single time they ask me to document their family. I was thrilllllled when Hannah asked me about photographing newborn Teddy. I just on any opportunity to snuggle a sweet baby. This little guy was just 20 days old and gave me all the baby fever all over again.
And of course Mr Russ didnt disappoint with his sweeeeeeet smiles. He’s talking more and more since I last saw him and its just the cutest. I still want him to marry Savvy.
And these brothers are only 19 months apart.. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous about getting a good sibling shot. All for nothing. Russ was a pro!Have you ever seen a more perfect profile? Melt.

Hannah and Andy, thank you again from the bottom of my heart for trusting me to capture these big important moments in your lives. I’m truly honored and look forward to watching your sweet boys grow. They are so sweet and perfect. I adore you guy. xxJBZ

Danielle | Columbus, Ohio Senior Photography

Meet Danielle. She’s a first timer on the blog but hopefully this won’t be her last time. She’s an amazing, kick ass senior at THE Ohio State University and is graduating this Sunday! It was sooo fun wandering around my old campus, getting to visit my old stomping grounds (most of which are gone or look absolutely completely different). I had a blast photographing this beauty, what an honor it was when she asked me to do her senior photos. Enjoy some of my favorites from our time together!

And did I mention Danielle is also our amazing babysitter? She came into our lives at the end of last summer and has been such a blessing to us. Savvy absolutely adores her and we really dont know what we’d do without her.

Thank you for choosing me for your senior photos, Danielle. And thank you for being such an amazing blessing to us and always so good with Savvy girl. We love you and are so proud of you! Congratulations and Go Buckeyes!! xxJBZ

Baby Deacon – a birth story

**let me start this out by saying this is a birth story so the images reflect that**

Sunday night, February 4th, after Savvy’s birthday party, around 845p, we headed to the hospital in the icy, snowy, yucky weather. We were scheduled for a 930p induction. We got into a room a little after 10 and at 1130p, a resident finally came in and checked me. I was keeping in contact with my friend and birth photographer, hoping against hope that she’d be able to make it for the birth. It was late so she told me she’d check in at 7am to see how I was doing. I was at 3cm when they checked me so they decided to put me on a slow pitocin drip. At around 4am, I got an epidural even tho my contractions were still pretty mild and not really painful at all. I didnt want to wait until I was in lots of pain and then the anesthesiologist be in surgery or something. At 530am, they checked me again and I was at 4cm/100% effaced and they decided to break my water. About 45 minutes later, I was fully dilated. 6:23am it was time to start pushing and just like I did with Savvy when they told me it was time to start pushing, I started crying. I was so nervous and worried about baby boy and I knew that as soon as he was born, they’d be taking him to the NICU and I wanted him to stay safe in my belly. I started pushing and he came pretty fast. His shoulder got stuck for about 50 seconds but everything ended up being fine. He was born at 6:34am. Way too early for Mel to make it and document it so JJ (and a couple nurses) did their best so we at least got something. Everything happened so fast, I barely got to hold him before they took him and started getting sensors on him. They took him to the NICU and JJ went with them to find out his weight and length while I got stitched and cleaned up. He weighed in at 7lbs 15oz and 20.5in long. I was finally able to go see him around 10:15a before they transported him to Children’s at 11am. Once we got word that he was settled in, JJ went over there to see him and got to hold him. I was so jealous. It would be more than 24 hours until I finally got to really hold my baby. FINALLY got to hold my sweet baby boy.after 5 and a half days at children’s, he finally got to come home. I know in the scheme of things, we weren’t there that long and I am thankful for that. I’m thankful he got the care that he did. But I am so happy to have him home. and this passed Monday, at 6 weeks old, he finally started smiling at us.

Maryann Barnes - Oh Jenny💖 such beautiful pics of a beautiful baby boy!

Savvy turns 2!

Our sweet, smart, beautiful girl turned 2 last month. Yes, I’m about 6 weeks late posting this but, you know, I’ve been a little preoccupied. And better late than never. I knew I wanted to have a post dedicated to our Savvy girl. She really does light up our world. I wish I could bottle up her little voice and save it forever. Hearing her sing and hold conversations melts my heart. She loves to run and play outside. She loves to sing the alphabet song (minus h-i-j-k) and twinkle twinkle. She loves Mickey Mouse clubhouse and has the clubhouse friends figurines that go just about everywhere with us. She is so fun right now, I dont really want her to grow up. But I’ve said that from about 6 months on. we had a pretty low key party for her this year, I didnt really have the energy to go all out like I did last year. But I did make her cake and all the cupcakes and the cookies. She spent the days and weeks leading up to her party practicing the birthday song, blowing out (pretend) candles and holding up two fingers. And if you ask her what happens after the candles are blown out, she’ll happily say “eat cake”. the one and only true bump pic my sister and I got together.. Sweet Savvy girl, may you grow up to be smart and strong and kind. May you make good choices and love as fiercely as you do now. And may you always remember, I love you. so, so much.

Mandy - Ahhh!! I love her so much. It was such a fabulous party and you did such an amazing job! I’m so lucky to be her auntie! Happy birthday again sweet girl! Auntie mandy loves you so much!

Lyla girl – 6 Months old | Columbus Ohio Baby Photography

This sweet baby. I was lucky enough to be there to photograph her entrance into this world and then again for her newborn session and this perfect little squish just keeps getting cuter!! She’s so cuddly and sweet and has the sweetest little smile. I wanted to keep her for myself. Baby photography seriously makes my heart sing. Especially these sitter sessions, before they can crawl. I love watching their little personalities come out. Baby smiles and giggles are the best! if you look closely in this one, you can see Lyla girl’s first little tooth that just recently broke thru.

Christie, thank you again for trusting me to capture yet another precious milestone in your lives! it means the world to me. I love you to pieces. xxJBZ
